Role of women during WWII:
Women began to work during the war, and when the soldiers came back home most of them lost their job and went back to being a house wife.
C/E of atomic bomb:
The U.S. bombed Japan frequently and millions of people died from the attack. Also, the U.S. wanted to end the war, but those plans didn't work out.
U.S. Foreign policy before/during/after the war:
Before the war, the U.S. was isolationist. During the war, the U.S. didn't want to get involved until we got attacked. After the war, the U.S. got involved in foreign affairs and joined the United Nations.
Effects of the war on Europe:
There was a bad economic change, there were many casualties, and Imperialism ended.
Effect of Pearl Harbor:
This caused another dropping of the Atomic bomb, the military started to believe in the radar systems, the U.S. declared war against Japan, and all Japanese or Japanese decent were sent to relocation camps.
Japanese Internment:
Japanese Americans and any person who was of Japanese decent were put in relocation camps because they were considered a threat after the attack of Pearl Harbor.
Neutrality Acts: -During 1935-1937.
-Not able to sell weapons to countries at war. - Embargo
-U.S. battle ships could not be armed.
Purpose of propaganda?:
Propaganda gets people into believing things that aren't true.
Rationing:
-American's conserved everything to help soldiers in war.
-Families would ration food, gas, and clothing.
Results of WWII?:
-United Nations.
-Poverty.
-Baby Boom
-Atomic Bombs.
-Cold War.
